Eagle Award nominations for Jason Aaron’s Scalped

Scalped: The Gravel in your Guts
Scalped Vol 4: The Gravel in your Guts collects the Eagle Award nominated issues of Scalped #19-#24.

Scalped, from Vertigo Press, has been nominated for two Eagle Awards. The series is written by Kansas City comics writer Jason Aaron. The series is up for Favourite American Colour Comicbook and the story arc “The Gravel in Your Guts” from issues #19-#24 is in the running for Favourite Continued Story.

The Eagle Awards have been presented by British comics fans since 1976. Online voting has been opened for this year’s awards.

Jason Aaron was named by Wizard Magazine as the best comic book writer of both 2008 and 2009 for his work on such titles as Wolverine, Black Panther and Ghost Rider for Marvel Comics, along with his Eisner-Award-nominated series Scalped for DC/Vertigo. He is also co-creator of the Eisner-nominated mini-series The Other Side for Vertigo and current writer on Astonishing Spider-Man & Wolverine, Wolverine: Weapon X and Punisher Max, all for Marvel.

Planet Comicon Sunday Photos

[singlepic id=85 w=320 h=240 float=right]Sunday at Planet Comicon wasn’t as packed as Saturday, but don’t think for a minute that it wasn’t fun. I’m a little biased since I coordinated the panel programming, but I believe Planet Comicon 2010 was the biggest, best comics convention that Kansas City has ever seen.

Were you there? Give us your feedback. What can we do next year to make it even better. Be sure to contact the convention organizer Chris Jackson at chris@planetcomicon.com. I’d also like to hear your comments on the programming in the panel room: kirk@kansascitycomics.com.
